Blencathra

Blencathra, known also by locals as Saddleback, at 868m (2,848ft) is the 14th highest peak in the Lake District, is one of the most popular fells in Northern Lake District. The name derives from old Cumbrian words "BLAIN" - "Top" and" "CADEIR" - "Chair" in reference to its shape.

Horse & Farrier is situated right beneath the fell, making it an ideal base for a number of different routes to the summit. There are a variety to choose from depending on capability of the walker, including the famous scramble up Sharp Edge.
